Officers mentioned they were notified by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Around 50 cars have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Police report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.

A senior representative commented the attack made him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
